Mohamed el-Kony, the Permanent Representative of the UAR to the UN delivered a letter to U Thant, the Secretary-General of the UN to ask him to order the withdrawal of the Canadian contingent of the United Nation Emergency Force (UNEF) within 48 hours. The reason was statements and actions of the Canadian government which the UAR told to be unfriendly.
