There weren’t important changes as the participants continued their ways into war. While the Arab countries expressed their support and solidarity, King Faisal of Saudi Arabia, for example, talked about the unity of the Arab states against Israel while he was in Brussels, Washington and the UK at the same time were talking about international action against the blockade of the Straits of Tiran. The House of Commons discussed the topic, and the conclusion was similar. The Canadian contingent of the UNEF was finally withdrawn from the United Arab Republic (Egypt), even if Major General Indar Jit Rikhye tried to find another solution, saying, the whole UNEF should have left.
