Why do we love history?

It is said sometimes, that history is boring, all those dates and events, wars and killings, who can follow them. Sometimes even its practical use is questioned. It is also said sometimes that it is for the boys and men, and girls and women are not interested.

In my opinion, history is our life, from where we come, who we are, to where we are heading. I think to understand the world around us, we should know history better. And we shouldn’t forget that history hasn’t stopped when we were born, and once our present will be somebody’s past.

For me, to learn about history, to research it, could be a great fun. Just think over it, you can be an inspector, putting together the pieces of the “crime”; you can be an actor or actress who takes the role of queens and kings, heroes and heroines, people from long, long time ago; you can be a psychologist or psychiatrist to try to understand what was going on in other people’s minds; you can be a novelist or a storyteller to tell others what you learnt; you can travel through time and continents, get to know peoples and empires, and can take trips into science, arts and religion.
