In an exchange of letters between the Israeli government and the UNRWA (United Nations Relief and Work Agency for Palestine Refugees) they agreed about the continuation of the assistance to the Palestine refugees in the West Bank and the Gaza Strip, with the cooperation of the Israeli government. The UN Security Council held two meetings. On the first meeting the draft resolution of the USSR about condemning Israel and the immediate and unconditional removal of the Israeli troops from the occupied territories wasn’t adopted. On the second meeting they adopted the Resolution 237 about sparing the civil population and the prisoners of war. The USS Liberty arrived at Valletta, Malta.
